AISI 501 Stainless Steel is a ferritic grade magnetic alloy offering corrosion and heat resistance at moderate temperature while retaining applicable mechanical properties at higher temperatures. Type 501 stainless steel is stocked with us in form of round bars, forged bars and forging stock. AISI 501 Heat Treatment

  • Full anneal by heating at 1525° to 1600°F (829° to 871°C )before gradual furnace cooling
  • Low anneal by heating at 1325° to 1375°F (718° to 746°C) before gradually cooling
  • Harden by heating at 1600° to 1700°F (871° to 927°C), then soaking, oil quenching and tempering at 400° to 1400°' F (204° to 760°C)
