AISI 501 Stainless Steel is a ferritic grade magnetic alloy offering corrosion and heat resistance at moderate temperature while retaining applicable mechanical properties at higher temperatures. AISI 501 Heat Treatment
- Full anneal by heating at 1525° to 1600°F (829° to 871°C )before gradual furnace cooling
- Low anneal by heating at 1325° to 1375°F (718° to 746°C) before gradually cooling
- Harden by heating at 1600° to 1700°F (871° to 927°C), then soaking, oil quenching and tempering at 400° to 1400°' F (204° to 760°C)
