Nitronic 60
Nitronic 60 Super Austenitic Stainless Steel is a high strength austenitic alloy, offering good mechanical properties at elevated temperature along with oxidation resistance however this alloy is best known for its galling resistance. The alloy has approximately 4% silicon and 8% manganese which inhibits excellent wear, calling and fretting even at high temperatures. Nitronic alloy 60 has corrosion resistance similar to type 304 & 316 stainless steel but twice the yield strength.
Nitronic alloy 60 is most commonly used for making fasteners and similar parts for use in marine equipments, chemical processing stream and similar bolting applications. Boltport usually stock round bars in Nitronic 60 (Alloy 218).
